Polish-Romanian events: Science Festival and Spring School

Two complementary events dedicated to Polish-Romanian cooperation in science, education, and academic dialogue will take place at the turn of February and March 2026. Both initiatives are interdisciplinary in nature and constitute a significant element in the development of academic relations between Poland and Romania.

The Polish-Romanian Science Festival will take place in Głogów (March 1, 2026), Zielona Góra (March 2-3, 2026), and Alba Iulia (March 6, 2026). It will also coincide with Polish-Romanian Solidarity Day on March 3. The event will be attended by representatives of the scientific and diplomatic communities from Poland and Romania, students, and residents of the Lubusz, Lower Silesia, and Transylvania regions.

Polish-Romanian Spring School Borderlands of CooperationStudying the Interference of Culture, Science, and Art Organized in cooperation between the University of Zielona Góra and the University of December 1, 1918 in Alba Iulia, the project will consist of two parts. The first will take place in Poland (Zielona Góra, Głogów) from February 27 to March 3, 2026, and the second in Romania (Alba Iulia, Sibiu, Cluj) from March 5 to 10, 2026. Students from both universities (astronomy, physics, music, psychology, and sociology) will participate in the project. The program includes interdisciplinary workshops, lectures, laboratories, study visits, discussions, and scientific and educational demonstrations.

Both events are coordinated with the key participation of the University of Zielona Góra and are part of the university's 25th anniversary celebrations, as well as the 35th anniversary of the University of December 1, 1918 in Alba Iulia. The events also accompany the celebrations for 2026, when Alba Iulia will serve as the capital of Romanian youth.

The organizers of the Polish-Romanian Science Festival 2026 are: the University of Zielona Góra (Institute of Physics, Institute of Music, Institute of Political and Administrative Sciences and Institute of Sociology) in cooperation with the University of 1 December 1918 in Alba Iulia, the State Academy of Applied Sciences in Głogów, the Piekarnia Cichej Kobiet, the Głogów Kresowa Education Association and the Commune Office in Gaworzyce.

The main event coordinators are Dr. Sylwia Kondej (Institute of Physics, University of Zielona Góra) and Dr. Magdalena Pokrzyńska (Institute of Sociology, University of Zielona Góra).
