Sociological studies prepare you to perform numerous social roles. Their particular value lies in the fact that they teach harmonious combination of knowledge about culture with knowledge about social and market mechanisms. Therefore, a graduate of sociological studies is both a humanist-researcher, using the cultural achievements of humanity and making his own contribution to this achievement, a citizen-social worker who actively and responsibly participates in the life of the local community and the state, and a conscious and innovative participant in activities on the labor market.
The study program takes into account the specificity of the place and time in which the education process and future civic and professional activity of graduates takes place. This specificity is determined primarily by the proximity of the border, the proximity of Germany and other EU countries, as well as local social problems, especially the problems of the labor market.

BA studies in sociology
Sociology is the study of how people connect and divide. It describes how various social collectivities, such as groups, nations or organizations such as political parties, function and how they change. It also tries to answer the question why they act the way they do, i.e. it tries to explain social phenomena and processes
In order to describe and explain social reality, sociologists use specific research methods. The most famous is the poll. It is a method that allows you to gather information about facts, assessments and opinions of the entire population (e.g. residents of Poland) through a much smaller, but particularly selected research sample (e.g. 1000 people). An important part of the research methods of sociology are those that we define as qualitative. These are, for example, various types of interviews, the participants of which have considerable freedom in formulating their statements, and even topics they want to talk about and which are part of their lives.
Information collected in this way, i.e. data, is used to change the world around us, e.g. to better meet the needs of residents of various communities, improve their quality of life, improve the efficiency of organizations, including workplaces, increase customer interest in a given product.
Sociology allows us to better understand our surroundings and the place we occupy in it, to develop ourselves by shaping our identity.
