Blended Intensive Programme "From Chaos to Harmony in Complex Systems" – the third installment of the international series on complex systems
From May 11–15, the University of Zielona Góra will host the international Blended Intensive Programme "From Chaos to Harmony in Complex Systems." The program will be preceded by a virtual session scheduled for May 6–7. This is the third event in the series dedicated to Complex Systems, which combines the perspective of complex systems with the social, natural, and exact sciences. This year's edition focuses on the process of transition from apparent chaos to emergent order. Participants will analyze the mechanisms that cause disordered systems to exhibit structure, synchronization, and coherent collective behavior.
Students and academic staff from the University of Zielona Góra, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Lithuania, Romania, and Ukraine will participate in the program. The international nature of the event will create a space for the exchange of experiences, scientific collaboration, and the joint search for analogies between physical, biological, and social phenomena. The program is interdisciplinary and organized by staff from various university units. The Institute of Biology, the Institute of Sociology, and the Institute of Physics play key roles in preparing the event. The program coordinators, representing these units, are Dr. Magdalena Pokrzyńska, Dr. hab. Sylwia Kondej, professor at the University of Zielona Góra, and Dr. Sylwia Andrzejczak-Grządko. The Institute of Astronomy, the Institute of Mathematics, the Institute of Pedagogy, and the Institute of Sport, Tourism, and Human Nutrition are also involved in organizing the event.
An important element of the program is collaboration with non-university partners: the Głogów Kresowa Education Association and the Gardens of Art in Zatoń Foundation. This allows the event to combine scientific, educational, social, and cultural dimensions.
The program will include lectures, workshops, and discussion sessions held both on university campuses—on both campuses and in the Rector's Office—and off-campus, including in the Prince's Park in Zatoń. “From Chaos to Harmony in Complex Systems” provides a unique opportunity to develop international academic cooperation and interdisciplinary reflection on complex processes taking place in the contemporary world.
