Dr. Sinan Tankut Gülhan is an Assistant Professor at the University of Zielona Góra in Poland, where he applies a multidisciplinary approach to urban sociology. His academic journey began with a Bachelor's degree in Sociology from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey, followed by a Master's and PhD in Sociology from the State University of New York at Binghamton in 2014, where his dissertation "The honorable exception: State and the social production of concrete space in Istanbul" provided a critical analysis of urbanization patterns and housing dynamics in Istanbul. This foundation established his expertise in urban theory, which he has since expanded to encompass Turkish urbanization processes, comparative urban history, and the sociology of urbanization.

Dr. Gülhan's teaching philosophy emphasizes critical thinking and methodological rigor across multiple institutions, including SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Oneonta, and various universities in Turkey.
