Anna Mielczarek-Żejmo deals with social dialogue and participation and the importance of intersectoral cooperation and social networks for the life of local communities. In cooperation with students, her most important thing is to discover how to introduce positive changes in her environment. Cooperation with non-governmental organizations is a source of inspiration for her.
She obtained her doctoral degree in 2009 based on the dissertation “Transformations of the social structure of a small town on the Polish-German border (based on the example of Krosno Odrzańskie)” (supervisory grant of the Committee for Scientific Research).
Her research interests focus on issues of borderland sociology, social structure, civil society and social and civic participation, as well as social networks. She is involved in local initiatives aimed at promoting social and civic activity. In 2007, in the project Lubuskie Trójmiasto. Qualifications and the labor market, she was the coordinator of the module on professional strategies of residents of Lubuskie Trójmiasto. In 2012-2014, she participated in the work of the international team implementing the project Trust beyond borders.
